TATSoul Migration from Zen Cart to Shopify Plus

Nexus Brands Group contains a portfolio of leading brands that serve professionals in lifestyle-oriented niche markets. Since 2015, they’ve focused on serving tattoo, pet, and beauty professionals/customers in enthusiastic communities and industries. When Nexus Brands Group began searching for a partner to elevate, revamp, and migrate their brands’ sites to Shopify Plus, they knew PIVOT was the right agency for the job based on their history working with lifestyle-focused brands. TATsoul is the first project to kick off a long-term partnership between PIVOT and Nexus Brands Group.

Summary

TATSoul is a leading manufacturer of innovative and premium tools for professional tattoo artists around the world. They asked PIVOT to build and deploy a new B2C website for TATSoul on Shopify Plus that is modern and dynamic, serving as a mobile-first, best-in-class eCommerce experience for consumers for phase 1 of this partnership.

Challenge

The first step of the project was to migrate TATSoul’s site from Zen Cart to Shopify Plus. Following the migration to Shopify Plus, PIVOT took the existing site and applied basic design improvements to certain sections, rather than a full site redesign.

Solution

In addition to implementing design updates to the existing site as part of the migration to Shopify Plus, PIVOT provided redesign elements to the Top Level Navigation, Potential Hover Menus, Collection Pages (include filtering) and Quick Order/Reorder functionality.

PIVOT updated TATSoul’s front-end development for mobile and desktop by integrating 3rd party apps to ensure a consistent UX/UI experience on all devices. They also built a custom Shopify theme and modular templates to support UX designs and requirements for easy, end-user content management.

The Shopify Plus store setup consisted of configuration, platform development, custom scripting, and database customization to support TATSoul’s specific product and operational requirements.

PIVOT also provided any necessary evaluations and recommendations of 3rd party apps to achieve particular functions wanted by TATSoul throughout the site.

The overall goal of the project was to deliver an engaging digital consumer shopping experience, blending brand and commerce, with a focus on site conversion. The key focus was on mobile and to deliver an on-trend dynamic browsing experience for their customers.

With phase 1 complete, PIVOT will serve as a strategic, analytical agency partner to support TATSoul’s ongoing eCommerce design and development needs. Stay tuned for more projects with PIVOT x Nexus Brands Group.
